The designation of Certified Film Commissioner will be awarded to those who have completed the AFCI training program, signifying that they have achieved the highest level of accomplishment in the profession. The certification program is designed to be comprehensive and challenging. It is comprised of a combination of the required Master Classes, outside activities, examinations or other demonstrations of mastery and written materials. Those who are certified will be re-examined every five years and must demonstrate continuing achievements in education and service to the industry in order to retain their certification.

REQUIREMENTS FOR CERTIFICATION
The successful candidate for AFCI Certification must complete the following requirements:
1. Complete Film Commission Fundamentals online course (access through the AFCI Members Area)*
2. Take the Film Commission Professional course *
3. Complete the four Master Classes, and pass an exam or other demonstration of mastery associated with each course.
4. Submit an application for the Certification Program. Those accepted into the program must demonstrate a level of accomplishment based on work history, education, and service to the profession. An application fee is required and will be used to offset costs associated with administrating the certification program.

5. Submit a written case study on an aspect of Film Commission work, on a topic mutually agreed upon by the applicant and the AFCI Certification Program Committee.
* Those who can demonstrate that they have taken Film Commission Fundamentals prior to 2007 are not required to take these courses. However, you may want to take The Film Commission Professional before continuing with the Master Classes.
