Marketing for Film Commissioners - Friday, February 8, 2008
Marketing for Film Commissions is one of four Master Classes necessary to achieve “Certified Film Commissioner (CFC)” status in the AFCI’s Certification Program. Marketing has become increasingly important for film commissioners, and this course will demonstrate how to develop a marketing program that will most effectively sell your jurisdiction. Experienced faculty will cover essential topics such as advertising strategies, building public relations campaigns, budgeting and best practices for allocation of marketing funds, tracking results and successful sales tactics and strategies.

Course Hours/Fees: 9:30 am – 5:30 pm;

Exam: An on-line exam that consists of a total of 25 multiple choice and True/False questions and 2-3 essay questions must be completed within 30 days of the course date in order to receive a Certificate of Mastery.

Film Commission Professional - Saturday, February 9, 2008
Film Commission Professional (FCP) serves as the second half of a 2-part training required of AFCI members, and is also a great course for new staff members in your office. The course covers the basic principles and concepts that NEW film commissioners must know in order to be effective and efficient in their everyday work and includes topics such as: marketing your jurisdiction, economic impact essentials, alliances and partnerships, and working with location scouts and production. It is a fast-paced course designed to keep students interested and engaged throughout the day.

Film Commission Fundamentals On-Line - Available NOW!
Part one of this course, Film Commission Fundamentals (FCF), is an on-line course that new members of AFCI must take prior to Film Commission Professional. FCF Online is a great course for new staff, film office representatives, or government officials who need to know more about what Film Commissioners do. Anyone can sign-up for this course. The course is available anytime, 365/24/7, and you must complete it within 30 days of registration.
