How To Become An AFCI Member

The process to get your office to be an AFCI Member is straightforward, and our helpful staff will work with you each step of the way.

  1. Submit a completed current AFCI Membership Application, including the Government Endorsement Form (section 4), to AFCI, along with a payment (wire transfer, credit card, or check) for $250 USD non-refundable Application Fee and $750 USD for the first year annual dues ($1,000 USD total). Dues will be pro-rated in the second year to bring annual billing date to the calendar year, January 1 – December 31. Applications will not proceed until application fee and annual dues are paid in full.

    At the time of application, please include a digital photo of the film commissioner. It can be submitted via email to membership@afci.org, or included with the completed Membership Application.

  2. The AFCI Membership Committee reviews application information.
     
  3. Notice of new applications will be posted monthly to AFCI Full Members, allowing a 30-day comment period/review.
     
  4. Following the 30-day membership review, if no concerns are raised, the Membership Committee may approve the membership application.
     
  5. Applicant is notified of application status, and has 18 months to satisfy Full Membership Requirements: Successful completion of Film Commission Fundamentals (available online) and Film Commission Professional (available annually in multiple locations worldwide).
