The Number Of Films Shot In Seville Is Up 34.35% On Last Year

  •  Audiovisual productions managed in 2010: 145
  •  Audiovisual productions managed in 2011: 196
  •  Audiovisual productions filmed in 2010: 131
  •  Audiovisual productions filmed in 2011: 177

Apart from film productions, there were also  49 photographic productions in
2011.

Interestingly, productions in the second half of the year grew by 46% compared
with the same period the previous year: this is due to the  adoption of new
initiatives:

  • Permission has again been granted to film in pedestrian areas
  • A new website has been produced.
  • A presence on Facebook and Twitter and the use of Vimeo to load trailers
  • for films shot in Seville.
  • The online image bank of photographs of the city has been updated.
  • New graphic material has been published, specifically a new  catalogue by
  • Seville Film Office and the Audiovisual Directory featuring an extensive
  • listing of Seville-based professionals.
  • A workshop has been organised in Seville which was attended by over 70
  • Commercial Film producers.
  • Permit processing times have been  reduced to around 7 days for
  • applications to film.

In fact, we are taking important steps for Seville to be able to compete in favourable
conditions in the world of film production.
In the future, we expect to boost the marketing effort for the "Seville product". We
are also attempting to reduce, or even eliminate, the fees for productions that have a
significant impact on employment in Seville.

Countries of origin of productions in 2011:

APPES, the Association for the External Promotion of Seville, is working to secure
national and international productions through direct contact with the producers and
their associations and a presence in international markets. In addition, it organises at
least one annual activity for the sector: in 2009 and 2010 it staged the Seville
International Locations Expo (SILE) and in 2011 the Commercial Film Workshop. It
also manages the requisite permit processing and oversees each and every
production taking place in Seville.

APPES, under its Seville Film Office brand, is a partner of the AFCI (Association of
Film Commissioners International), the EUFCN (European Film Commission Network),
the SFC (Spain Film Commission) and the la AFC (Andalusia Film Commission).

Economic data:

Based on surveys and the information requested from production companies, the
total direct investment in the city comes to €10.8m.

According to data provided by the production companies, these figures break down
as follows:

  • 44% on direct employment (actors, production technicians, etc)
  • 39% on the hire of equipment, production and the payment of fees
  • 17% on the service sector (tourism)

APART FROM THE ABOVE DATA, WE SHOULD KEEP IN MIND THE MAJOR
PROMOTIONAL EFFORT WHICH LEAD TO MANY SUCH PRODUCTIONS FOR
SEVILLE IN THE FUTURE
