AFCI Elects Board of Directors for 2009


Film commission representatives from around the world stepped forward this year to run for seven open positions on the 2009 AFCI Board of Directors.  In its election, AFCI members chose from a slate of 21 film commissioners to fill the Board seats.  The seven will serve two-year terms.  The recently elected AFCI Board Members include:

Janice Arrington – Orange County Film Commission (California, USA)
Kevin Chang – Gyeonggi Film Commission (Gyeonggi, REPUBLIC OF KOREA)
Walea Constantinau – Honolulu Film Office (Hawaii, USA)
Robin James – Pacific Film & Television Commission (Queensland, AUSTRALIA)
Joan Miller – Island North Film Commission (British Columbia, CANADA)
Mary Nelson – Virginia Film Office (Virginia, USA)
Jay Self – Savannah Film Commission (Georgia, USA)

AFCI Board Members completing the second year of their terms in 2009 include:

Belle Doyle – Scottish Screen (Scotland, UK)
Sue Hayes – Film London (London, UK)
Sten Iversen – Montana Film Office (Montana, USA)
Pat Swinney Kaufman – NY State Governor’s Office for MP & TV Dev. (New York, USA)
Mark Stricklin – Birmingham-Jefferson Film Office (Alabama, USA)
Lisa Strout – New Mexico Film Office (New Mexico, USA)

AFCI Board officers will be elected at the upcoming Board of Directors Meeting in New York, January 10-11, 2009.

AFCI Board President Robin James said the newly elected 2009 Board offers exceptional global perspectives . . valuable in leading the AFCI and supporting the needs of the entertainment industry.
