Asian Film Commissions Network members from Japan, Korea, Malaysia and China were invited by the Changchun Film Group to participate in the Changchun Film Festival. An AFCNet Assembly was also held during the visit to discuss the organization’s efforts to attract international filmmakers to the region with the Board unanimously agreeing to hold a forum of decision-makers on film policies for governments in the region during BIFCOM (Busan, Korea).
AFCNet co-Vice President, Deborah Gabinetti (Bali Film Center, Indonesia) joined China's renowned director Yu Tien Ming in presenting the Best Director Award to Xu Geng for his film "Heart of Ice," which also garnered awards for Best Film Music (Zou Ye), and the Golden Deer for Best Film, which was presented by AFCNet Chairman Mr Park Kwang-su (Busan Film Commission, Korea).
