AFCI Announces 2010 Board Officers


Los Angeles, Calif., February 4, 2010—The Association of Film Commissioners International Board of Directors elected officers for 2010 at the annual board of directors meeting in New York earlier this month. The officers are:

•  Joan Miller, Island North Film Commission (Canada) – 1st Vice President
•  Belle Doyle, Scottish Screen (United Kingdom) – 2nd Vice President
•  Walea Constantinau, Honolulu Film Office (United States) – Secretary

Mary Nelson of the Virginia Film Office (United States) and Sten Iversen of the Montana Film Office (United States) will continue in their two-year terms as board president and treasurer, respectively.

Additional board members serving through 2010 are:

•  Janice Arrington, Orange County Film Commission (United States)
•  Sue Hayes, Film London (United Kingdom)
•  Drew Mayer-Oakes, San Antonio Film Commission (United States)
•  Ingrid Rudefors, Stockholm Film Commission (Sweden)
•  Kevin Shand, Colorado Office of Film, Television & Media (United States)
•  David Shepheard, Abu Dhabi Film Commission (United Arab Emirates)
•  Mark Stricklin, Birmingham-Jefferson Film Office (United States)
•  Lisa Strout, New Mexico Film Office (United States)

Our current board represents the global nature of the organization and has members from six countries and seven U.S. states, with the newly elected officers representing Scotland, Canada and Hawaii.  The AFCI is grateful for their leadership and service.”

The Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI) is the global professional organization whose members are film commissioners that assist film, television and video production throughout the world.  It is a non-profit educational association whose network of members serves as city, county, state, regional, provincial or national film commissioners for their respective governmental jurisdictions.
