Mississippi Improves Incentive Program

Mississippi has improved its already competitive motion picture incentive program. The new legislation raises the per project rebate limit to $10 million per production and raises the salary cap to include the first $5 million of any individual salary.

2013 Officers Announced

Five film commissioners representing four countries were named to leadership office at the AFCI’s board meeting on January 15, 2013 in San Francisco:
·      President: George David, Royal Film Commission - Jordan
·      First Vice President: Joan Miller, Vancouver Island North Film Commission
·      Second Vice President: Mikael Svensson, Oresund Film Commission
·      Treasurer: Drew Mayer-Oakes, San Antonio Film Commission
·      Secretary: Jerry Day, Tuolumne County Film Commission

Mississippi Film Office Marks 40th Anniversary

Jackson, Mississippi (January 15, 2013) – On Thursday, January 17, 2013, the Mississippi Film Office will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a special birthday cake celebration in the rotunda of the Mississippi State Capitol from 2-4 p.m. Governor Phil Bryant signed a proclamation declaring January 17 as “Mississippi Film Day.”
